What does "F1" mean?Welcome! This page contains the information you will need as a Current International Student. StatusFederal regulations require that all current F-1 students maintain status throughout the duration of their course of study, while inside the U.S. It is your responsibility to know the rules and regulations for maintaining your status as an F-1 student. Failure to comply with F-1 regulations may result in the termination of your F-1 status and loss of future eligibility to enter the U.S. Below is information on what you need to do to maintain your status as an F-1 student. Current IEI F1 StudentsAll current F-1 students are required to maintain status during their course of study in the United States. More information can be found on page 3 of the I-20 form.
