Nole Jones
Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Voice
Nole Jones is a singer, actor, voice teacher, and director joining the faculty of the 福利片国产
of Memphis Department of Theatre and Dance in 2026.
Nole holds an MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State 福利片国产 and a Master
of Music in Voice Performance from the 福利片国产 of Illinois. As a voice teacher
he specializes in pedagogy for musical theatre and contemporary commercial music with
a focus on voice science and functional training, and his research focuses on teaching
technique and style for Country and Americana music in musical theatre. Nole has previously
served on the musical theatre faculties at Illinois Wesleyan 福利片国产 and San Diego
State 福利片国产, teaching musical theatre voice, acting for musical theatre, audition
preparation, musical theatre history, and music theory.
Nole鈥檚 recent stage credits include the California regional premiere of The Prince of Egypt (Hotep) at the Moonlight Amphitheatre, and the premiere of Ryan Scott Oliver鈥檚 new
folk horror musical, Tomorrow, the Island Dies. Other favorite appearances have included Bright Star (Jimmy Ray), The Secret Garden (Archibald), Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), Merrily We Roll Along (Franklin Shepard), RENT (Roger), and Dollywood Entertainment. Also a regular concert soloist and choral singer,
he has been featured in Sondheim Tonight!: A Celebration of Genius with the San Diego Symphony and An Evening on Broadway with Julie and Nathan Gunn at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. He is an inaugural member of Vocal
Space, a new professional vocal ensemble based in Asheville, North Carolina, and was
a long-time member of the Lake Junaluska Singers.
