Dr. Koo received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú of Cincinnati in 2022. She also holds a B.S. in Corrections from Kyonggi ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú, a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú, and M.S. in Criminal Justice from the ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú of Cincinnati. In addition, Dr. Koo has worked with the ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú of Cincinnati Corrections Institute as a graduate assistant (2016 – 2018). Her previous employers include the Korean Institute of Criminology and National Human Rights Commissions of Korea. Her main research focus includes, but is not limited to, immigration/immigrants in sentencing and the criminal justice system, minorities in sentencing, and general corrections and reentry practices. Her recent work has appeared in the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency.
