Her areas of focus include auditor learning and development, public accounting culture, and auditor-client interactions. She is especially passionate about understanding and improving accountants’ day-to-day work experiences.
Dr. Hickey graduated with her PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from the ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú of Georgia. She also earned her Master in Taxation from American ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú and Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the ¸£ÀûƬ¹ú²ú of Virginia.
Before transitioning to academics, Dr. Hickey worked for five years in public accounting at CohnReznick LLP and Deloitte & Touche in Virginia and Colorado. She advanced to tax manager and specialized in multistate taxation and partnership structures. When not working, she enjoys listening to history podcasts and singing.
